Ingredients
- Croissant dough1 tube
- Butter, melted2 tbsp
- Sugar3 tbsp
- Cinnamon1 tsp
Method
Cut the dough
Unroll the croissant dough and slice it into bite-sized squares about an inch across. Keeping the pieces the same size helps them puff and brown at the same rate, so none burn while others stay pale.
Brush with butter
Toss the dough pieces gently in some of the melted butter so the layers separate and crisp. Keep a little butter back for finishing once they are baked, which makes the cinnamon sugar cling later.
Arrange with space
Place the bites in the basket with gaps between them, as they expand a lot while cooking. Line the basket with parchment to catch any leaking butter and stop it smoking on the hot surface.
Air-fry then sugar
Cook at 180°C for 9 min until puffed, flaky and deep golden all over. Brush with the reserved butter and toss in the cinnamon sugar while still warm, so the coating melts on and sticks firmly.
