Ingredients
- bread6 slices
- potato2 medium (boiled, sliced)
- onion1 (thinly sliced)
- tomato1 (thinly sliced)
- capsicum1/2 (thinly sliced)
- green chutney4 tbsp
- chaat masala1 tsp
- butter2 tbsp (softened)
- cheese2 slices (grated or sliced)
Method
Spread the chutney
Butter one side of every bread slice, then spread green chutney generously on the other side. The butter goes on the outer face so it crisps in the basket, while the chutney sits inside against the filling.
Layer the vegetables
On half the slices, layer the boiled potato, onion, tomato and capsicum in thin, even slices. Sprinkle chaat masala and a little salt over them, then add the grated cheese, which melts and helps the layers hold together.
Close the sandwich
Top with the remaining slices, chutney-side down, so the buttered faces point outward. Press the sandwich down gently with your palm so the filling settles and the slices do not slide apart while cooking.
Air fry until crisp
Place the sandwiches in the basket in a single layer. Air fry at 185°C for 10 min, flipping halfway, until the outside is golden and crisp and the cheese has melted. Cut into triangles and serve hot.
