Ingredients
- Baguette or sub roll1
- Butter, softened3 tbsp
- Garlic, minced4 cloves
- Mozzarella, grated1 cup
- Parsley or coriander1 tbsp
- Chilli flakes1/2 tsp
Method
Make garlic butter
Mash the softened butter with the minced garlic and chopped parsley or coriander into a smooth, spreadable paste. Letting the raw garlic sit in the butter for a couple of minutes lets its aroma bloom, so the bread tastes deeply garlicky.
Split and slather
Halve the bread lengthways and spread the garlic butter thickly across both cut faces. Push it right into the soft crumb rather than just skimming the top, so the flavour and richness soak all the way through.
Blanket with cheese
Scatter the grated mozzarella evenly over the buttered surface and finish with a pinch of chilli flakes. Keep the cheese a little inside the edges, because any that spills onto the basket will scorch and taste bitter.
Air-fry till molten
Air-fry at 180°C for 8 min, until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is crisp and golden. Let it cool for a minute before slicing into fingers, so the melted cheese sets just enough to pull apart cleanly.
