Ingredients
- Popcorn kernels1/3 cup
- Melted butter2 tbsp
- Oil1 tbsp
- Mixed dried herbs1 tsp
- Salt1/2 tsp
Method
Line the basket
Lay a small piece of foil loosely in the base of the basket to catch stray kernels and hold a little heat. Keep the sides open rather than sealing it in, so hot air can still move around the corn and pop it evenly.
Oil the kernels
Toss the popcorn kernels with the oil and a pinch of salt so the heat spreads evenly over each one. A light coat of oil helps every kernel heat through and pop fully, instead of scorching in dry spots before it bursts.
Mix the herb butter
Stir the melted butter together with the dried herbs and the rest of the salt in a large bowl. Having this ready and waiting means you can dress the popcorn the second it comes out, while it is still hot enough to soak it up.
Air-fry to pop
Air-fry at 200°C for 8 min, listening as the popping slows to a pause before you open the basket. Tip the hot popcorn straight into the bowl of herb butter and toss it hard, so every piece is coated while warm.
