Ingredients
- Frozen pizza rolls20 pieces
- Olive oil spray1 tsp
- Dried Italian herbs1/4 tsp
- Grated parmesan1 tbsp
- Marinara dip1/2 cup
Method
Skip thawing
Use the rolls straight from the freezer so the filling stays molten inside while the outer shell crisps up. Thawed rolls soften and tend to burst and leak their cheese into the basket before the pastry is even done.
Mist and season
Spread the rolls on a plate, mist them with olive oil and sprinkle over the Italian herbs and grated parmesan. That light, seasoned coating helps the pastry blister into crisp golden bubbles as it cooks.
Single layer only
Tip the rolls into the basket and shake them out into a single layer. Rolls that overlap end up steaming each other where they touch, so they stay pale and doughy instead of crisping evenly all over.
Air-fry fast and hot
Air-fry at 190°C for 8 min, shaking the basket twice so they brown on all sides. Take them out when the pockets are blistered and golden, then let them sit for 2 minutes, as the filling is scaldingly hot; serve with marinara.
