Ingredients
- gram flour150 g
- onion1
- corn1/2 cup
- yogurt3 tbsp
- green chili1
Method
Mix the batter
Whisk the gram flour with the yogurt, a pinch of salt and a little water into a thick, smooth batter. Add the water slowly and beat out the lumps, because a smooth batter of the right thickness sets evenly and does not turn gummy in the middle.
Fold in the extras
Stir in the chopped onion, corn and green chili until they are spread evenly through the batter. Distributing them well means every bite has a little of each, and it stops heavy pockets that would stay wet while the rest cooks.
Fill the mold
Grease a waffle mold well and spoon in the batter, then level the top with the back of a spoon. Greasing every groove lets the waffle release cleanly, and a level fill helps it cook through evenly without thin, overdone edges.
Air fry
Set the mold in the basket and air-fry at 185°C for 16 min until the waffle is firm, cooked through and golden and crisp at the edges. Leave it to firm up for a minute before turning it out, so it holds its shape and does not tear.
