Ingredients
- Rolled oats1.5 cups
- Whey protein powder3 tbsp
- Chopped almonds1/3 cup
- Honey3 tbsp
- Coconut oil1 tbsp
Method
Warm the binder
Gently warm the honey and coconut oil together until they melt into a thin, runny syrup. A warm, loose syrup pours and spreads far more easily than a cold one, so it coats every oat flake evenly for clusters that stick together.
Mix the dry base
Stir the rolled oats, whey protein powder and chopped almonds in a bowl, then pour over the warm syrup. Mix well until every flake looks glossy and sticky and small clumps start to form, as those clumps become your crunchy clusters.
Press into a tray
Spread the mixture onto a lined air-fryer tray and press it down firmly with the back of a spoon. Packing it tight now is what lets big clusters hold together, rather than baking loose like a scattered, powdery mix.
Air-fry the granola
Air-fry at 160°C for 14 min, gently breaking the sheet into pieces once near the end so it toasts evenly without burning. Let it cool fully in the tray, as granola is soft when hot and only crisps into firm clusters as it sets.
