Ingredients
- Pita breads3
- Olive oil3 tbsp
- Za'atar blend2 tbsp
- Sea salt1/2 tsp
Method
Cut into triangles
Slice each pita into bite-sized wedges, and for extra crunch split any thick breads into two thin layers first. Keeping the pieces the same size means they all brown together instead of some burning.
Make za'atar oil
Stir the za'atar into the olive oil and let it sit a moment so the herbs and sesame flavour the fat. Mixing them first spreads the seasoning evenly across every chip rather than in dry clumps.
Brush each piece
Lightly brush both sides of every wedge with the seasoned oil and scatter over the sea salt. A thin, even coat crisps far better than oil that pools in one spot and leaves soggy patches.
Air-fry until crisp
Spread the wedges in a single layer and air-fry at 180°C for 7 min, shaking once midway. They are ready when the edges curl up and the chips snap cleanly when you break one.
