Ingredients
- raw banana3 medium
- oil1 tbsp
- turmeric powder1/4 tsp
- red chilli powder1/2 tsp
- saltto taste
Method
Slice thin
Peel the raw bananas and slice them into thin, even rounds with a mandoline or sharp knife. The thinner and more even the slices, the crisper they turn, as thick pieces stay chewy and cook unevenly.
Toss with spices
Toss the slices with the oil, turmeric, red chilli powder and salt until each one is evenly coated. Just a thin film of oil is enough to carry the spices and help the chips crisp without turning greasy.
Arrange in the basket
Spread the slices in a single layer in the basket without overlapping. Overlapped slices steam each other and stay soft, while a single layer lets hot air reach both faces so every chip crisps up.
Air fry
Air fry at 170°C for 15 min, shaking every 5 min, until the chips are crisp and light golden. Shaking keeps them from sticking together and browning in patches, so they colour evenly all over.
