Ingredients
- Pizza dough250 g
- Pizza sauce3 tbsp
- Mozzarella, grated100 g
- Mixed Italian herbs1 tsp
- Olive oil for brushing1 tbsp
Method
Roll out the dough
Roll the dough into a thin rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Keeping the thickness even all over means every roll cooks at the same rate, with no doughy, undercooked centres.
Spread the filling
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce, scatter the cheese, and dust with the herbs, leaving one long edge bare. That clear strip of dough is what lets the spiral press together and seal.
Roll and slice
Roll the dough up tightly from the filled edge into a log, then cut it into rounds about two fingers thick. Lay each pinwheel flat with the swirl facing up so it holds its shape.
Air-fry the rolls
Brush the rolls with olive oil and air-fry at 190°C for 12 min until puffed, golden, and crisp at the edges. They are done when the cheese is bubbling out of the spirals.
