Ingredients
- lentils300 g cooked brown lentils
- walnuts50 g chopped
- oats40 g
- onion1 small
- garlic2 cloves
- cumin powder1 tsp
- oil1 tbsp
Method
Prepare the base
Use cooked, well-drained brown lentils and mash them lightly in a bowl, keeping some whole for texture. Draining well is key, as wet lentils make the mix loose and the patties fall apart.
Add the mix-ins
Stir in the chopped walnuts, oats, finely chopped onion, minced garlic and cumin powder. Mix until it binds into a mass you can shape, as the oats soak up moisture and hold it all together.
Shape the patties
Form the mixture into six patties about 2 cm thick and brush both sides lightly with oil. Keeping them an even thickness helps them cook through and crisp evenly on both sides.
Air fry
Air fry the patties at 185°C for 16 min, flipping them once halfway, until the crust is firm and golden brown across both sides and holds together when you lift them.
