Ingredients
- bread4 slices
- cheese80 g
- butter2 tbsp
- garlic3 cloves, crushed
- coriander1 tbsp, chopped
Method
Make garlic butter
Mix the softened butter with the crushed garlic and chopped coriander until it is soft and easy to spread. Bringing the butter to room temperature first stops it tearing the bread, so the garlic sits in an even layer on every slice.
Spread the bread
Spread the garlic butter evenly over each bread slice, all the way to the edges. Covering the rim matters because the edges crisp first in the air fryer, and buttered edges brown into a tasty crust instead of drying out and going hard.
Top with cheese
Sprinkle the cheese generously over each slice, pressing it down lightly so it clings to the butter. A firm, even layer melts into a proper golden blanket rather than sliding off in patches as it heats.
Air fry
Air-fry the slices at 180°C for 6 min until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the edges are golden and crisp. Sit them in a single layer with a little space between so the hot air can crisp the base as the top melts.
