Ingredients
- Pork breakfast sausages6 links
- Oil spray1 spritz
- Cracked pepper1/4 tsp
Method
Bring to room temp
Let the sausages sit out for about 10 minutes so the centres are not fridge-cold and cook through evenly. Pat them dry with a paper towel, since a dry surface browns far better than a damp one.
Prick and spritz
Pierce each sausage twice with a fork so steam can escape and the skins do not split open. Give them a light spritz of oil and a dusting of cracked pepper to help them colour into a deep, even golden.
Space them out
Lay the links in a single layer with a finger-width gap between each so hot air can wrap around every side. Crowding traps steam and leaves pale, soft patches instead of an even golden skin.
Air-fry and turn
Cook at 180°C for 13 min, rolling the sausages a quarter turn every few minutes so they colour all over. They are ready when the skins are deep golden and the juices run clear with no pink inside.
