Ingredients
- flour2 cups
- milk3/4 cup warm
- butter2 tbsp melted
- yeast1 tsp
- sugar1 tbsp
- salt1/2 tsp
Method
Make the dough
Mix the warm milk, sugar and yeast and let it stand for 5 minutes until frothy, which proves the yeast is alive. Add the flour, salt and melted butter and knead into a soft, springy dough.
Let it rise
Cover the dough and rest it in a warm spot for about 45 minutes, until it doubles in size. A full first rise builds the air pockets that make the finished rolls light and fluffy rather than dense.
Shape the rolls
Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal balls. Place them in a greased tin that fits your air fryer, spaced slightly apart, and rest for 15 minutes so they puff up and touch as they bake.
Air fry
Air fry at 175°C for 14 min, until the rolls are golden on top and sound hollow when tapped underneath. That hollow tap is the classic sign the insides are baked through and no longer doughy.
