Ingredients

  • chicken400 g (minced)
  • onion1 small (finely chopped)
  • ginger garlic paste1 tsp
  • bread crumbs1/2 cup
  • egg1
  • black pepper1/2 tsp
  • burger bun4
  • lettuce4 leaves
  • tomato1 (sliced)
  • mayonnaise3 tbsp

Method

  1. Mix the patty base

In a bowl, combine the minced chicken, chopped onion, ginger garlic paste, bread crumbs, egg, black pepper and salt. Mix well with your hands until even. The egg and crumbs bind the patty so it holds together.

  2. Shape the patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a round patty about 2 cm thick. Press a slight dip into the centre and chill for 10 min, so they hold their shape and cook flat and even.

  3. Air fry the patties

Place the patties in the basket in a single layer. Air fry at 190°C for 16 min, flipping halfway, until browned. The patty is done when the centre reaches 74°C with no pink and the juices run clear.

  4. Assemble the burger

Toast the split buns in the air fryer at 190°C for 2 min until light golden. Spread mayonnaise on both halves, then layer the lettuce, the hot chicken patty and tomato slices, close the bun and serve at once.
