Ingredients
- capsicum3 medium
- oil1 tbsp
- black pepper0.5 tsp
- salt0.5 tsp
- dried oregano0.5 tsp
Method
Slice
Halve each capsicum, pull out the seeds and white ribs, then cut into wide flat strips. Wide pieces sit flat against the hot basket, so they blister and char instead of curling up and just steaming.
Toss
Toss the strips in a bowl with the oil, salt, black pepper and dried oregano until every piece has a light shine. A thin, even oil coat helps the skins catch colour and carries the seasoning onto the surface.
Spread
Lay the strips skin-side down in a loose single layer with small gaps between them. Crowding traps steam and turns them soft, while a bit of space lets the hot air reach each surface and char it evenly.
Air fry
Preheat to 195°C, then air fry at 195°C for 12 min, shaking the basket once so the strips colour on all sides. They are ready when the skins are blistered and charred in spots and the flesh is soft.
