Ingredients

  • banana2
  • cornflour3 tbsp
  • breadcrumbs1 cup
  • cinnamon powder1/4 tsp

Method

  1. Cut the banana

Peel the bananas and cut them into thick round pieces or short batons. Keep the pieces chunky, as thin slices turn too soft and fall apart in the coating, while thicker pieces hold their shape and stay creamy inside.

  2. Dust with cornflour

Mix the cornflour and cinnamon, then roll each banana piece in it until lightly coated. This dry dusting gives the breadcrumbs something to grip, so the coating clings on instead of sliding off in the basket.

  3. Coat in breadcrumbs

Press each dusted piece firmly into the breadcrumbs until fully covered on all sides. A complete, even crumb layer seals the soft banana in and crisps into a crunchy golden shell as it cooks.

  4. Air fry until golden

Place the banana bites in the basket in a single layer with gaps between them, and air fry at 180°C for 10 min, flipping halfway, until the coating is golden and crisp. The flip browns both sides evenly.
