Ingredients
- corn2 cobs cut into ribs
- oil2 tbsp
- paprika1 tsp
- garlic powder1 tsp
- salt1/2 tsp
Method
Cut the corn ribs
Stand each corn cob upright and carefully slice it lengthwise into 4 rib-shaped pieces. Use a firm, steady hand, because cutting them evenly means the ribs curl and cook at the same rate for that classic bent shape.
Season the ribs
Toss the corn ribs with the oil, paprika, garlic powder and salt until evenly coated. Coating every side well helps the spice roast onto the kernels and gives an even golden colour rather than bare, pale patches.
Arrange in the basket
Place the corn ribs in a single layer in the basket, curved side down to start. A single layer lets the hot air reach each rib so they roast and curl evenly instead of steaming against each other.
Air fry until tender
Air fry at 190°C for 15 min, turning halfway, until the edges are golden and the kernels are tender. Turning the ribs browns both sides, and the ribs naturally curl up as the kernels roast and dry.
